2025 Awards eligibility and wrap up

These end of year wrap ups keep coming earlier and earlier, but I’m really grateful for (and ready to see the back of) 2025!

On the publications front I got to share two beloved stories with the world:

These pieces share my love for contemporary fantasy in suburban settings and differ wildly in theme and tone. One is bittersweet and the other is caustic. I love that they came out in the same year showing the darker and lighter sides of my writing self. I’d love to be considered for your ballots or clicks wherever you’re voting!

It’s been a personal doozy of a year, so my writing and reading “output” look different to how I thought they would at the start of the year. But I’ve written more new stories this year than any other. My longer projects are still moving forward, too, and I’m proud of my progress with them.

I went to fewer conventions and events than I’d hoped, but have had many more smaller write ins and talk ins with fellow creatives and have been much more active in my writing communities online. I’m grateful for the friends and companionship, writing on despite everything.

I remain really grateful for everyone who has read, critiqued, recommended or otherwise engaged with my fiction this year. May 2026 see us and our weirdest projects all flourish.
