“How Proprietress Hailey Bested the Huntmaster (without crossing a line)” out now in Witches Save the World

My latest story is out in the world today! And definitely my longest title to date.

This one is dedicated to my late mother in law, who loved good witches and at whose table I heard the real life story that inspired the events in this one.

I’m so proud this story is included in the Witches Save the World anthologies, which explore the figure of the witch as defender, caretaker and voice for balance in the world. My witchy protagonist Hailey’s story is about defending those who cannot protect themselves and the importance of community caretakers, whose rebellion is in carving out a space for people to live and thrive and heal in the face of prevailing societal or government forces of their time. It’s about finding your people, sticking it to the (antlered) man and going down swinging.

There are flecks of dark fae themes, but is also a story for those who want to read something of mine that’s a little less confronting and bloody.
